Your Lucky Underwear is Blue
You are caring and extroverted. You've made relationships your number one focus, and your lucky blue underwear can bring some balance to them.
You thrive in one-on-one situations. You are a good listener and a natural born therapist.

Sometimes you let the concerns of others become too important in your life, leading to stress and worry.
If you want more balance, put on your blue underpants. They'll help you take care of yourself first.

who'da thunk it?

hugs to all. .

Hey there!

I realize it's been a long time.  There have been so many things happening here!  The work on the house has been incredible.  The guys are like part of the family now.  They've turned out to be wonderful friends.  The sheetrock taping and mudding are all done and now I need to get things primed and painted.  Right now, they are finishing up another job.  If I can get my work done before they get back it will be less for them to do and save $ for me.  I think I may have 2 weeks to get it done.  Anyone up for a painting party?

Hi there

Long time no entry here.  It's been a long strange year, but I think things are finally beginning to look like what they are supposed to.  I think I am adjusting and finally figuring out how to make my life my own.  Instead of allowing things to happen, I'm taking a proactive step to acheive goals.

After a spring/summer romance that taught me the true meaning of boundaries, I have started dating again and really looking at who I'm chosing and why and surrounding myself with more appropriate people that fit my needs instead of trying to fit someone elses.  After all .. . I am important too. . . and THAT my friends is a true epiphany.  I'm moving forward emotionally....leaving baggage behind....

After 12 years of being in a house that is mostly unfinished, I finally looked deep inside and found a seed of courage to take the bold step of refinancing my house and hiring a contractor.  My dad has been my leinholder since I bought the house in 1998.  It was a net of safety.  I could see the end for I owed very little on my house.  It was mine.  However, in order to truly be happy here, there needed to be changes.  It's really kind of terrifying not to have that "someone" who always stands beside you to help you make the huge decisions.  My success or failure is all on my own shoulders.  There is no backup.  I am alone except for my wonderful, wonderful daughter who is such a help to me, but, when it comes to the big stuff .. . it's still all mine.  Having said that,  there are incredible things happening here!  It was worth facing my fear.  I am safe and it will be well.  I discovered that my home is worth so much more than I had thought even before the construction!  I got a recommendation for a contractor that was worth cubby's and gracie's weight in gold!  He is such an incredible help!  I now have an alternative heat source!  I can now spend 500 a month on pellets instead of 800 a month on oil which is economically and ecologically an improvement!  As Cam tightens the house up with sheetrock and more insulation, it seems easier to heat as well.  My house doesnt feel quite so much like a really cold space.  .although .. my office . .seems to be another story . .right now. . . this too will change as the construction goes on.

I still read your posts. . .I just hadn't been quite here .  .. but all is well...all will be well....hugs to spifyt...i'm sorry to hear of your loss....if you need anything...lemme know....

hugs to all

Hello all!
Cubby is settling in nicely here at the Shiloelizabethmenagerie House.

The cats are venturing futher into Cubby territory every other day. . or so.  There is on occasion this odd hissing sound coming from beneath the futon.  I believe that it is either posessed, or Ivan is trying his best to hide there from the snooping snoot of the black and white one.  I have not yet heard screeching cat or yelping pup, nor have i seen a bloodied nose so I assume Ivan's noise is all for show.  Nero tries very hard to sneak past him but rarely succeeds and returns to the assumed safety of higher floors.  On one such occasion that he successfully made his escape and was able to go for an evening hunt from which he returned promptly at 04:00 AM, he proudly left me several regurgitated somethings as my present.  How sweet!  Poor Lincoln comes down only when she has the Great Shilo for protection.  Fortunately for Lincoln, Shilo has only 2 weeks of camp left before she's back for the fall.  One worries what will happen when Cubby figures out that he can go up the stairs.  This fish .. still don't care.

Since his arrival I have been taking great amusement in the many positions of Cubby.  He never ceases to make me laugh. I've finally actually been able to catalogue some of them for you.
1.  Tigger!  This is the insane bouncing he does when I get home from work.  Ever try to unhook a 70lb dog from a run when he cant keep all 4 on the ground?
2.  I'm a slut!  This is the on his back spread eagle pose that gets his belly rubbed.  Did you know you can hypnotize a Cubby this way?  Its the only time he doesnt move.
3.  Inchworm!  This is when he is spread eagle on his belly trying to sneak across those last few inches between his nose and the ball.
4.  Alarm clock!  This is when he comes to stand straddle over me looking down trying to find my face hiding under the blanket cuz he thinks I cant hear that annoying buzzing.  Remeber how big he is?  This is also known as a Cubby Down moment.
5.  Plow!  This is the head and shoulder to the floor being pushed along by the back legs as he tries to sneak up on yet another ball.
6.  Homosapien!  This is where there are only 2 Cub feet on the floor.  Alias, another Cubby Down moment.
And last but not least is my favorite
7.  I love you mom!  This is the lopsided seated lean where he pushes all his weight against your legs and looks up at you so lovingly and melts every urge to scold away.  I'm such a pushover.  (this is also the beginning of the slut maneuver)

I am planning on making a dog food run to the shelter soon.  I'd like to be able to take down a couple bags of dog and cat food every payday or so if I can.  Anyone wishing to donate to the Knox County Animal Shelter let me know.  They run very much on a donation basis from the cost of the care of the animals to the veterinary expenses of shots and neutering.  I know I paid far less for Cubby than they had invested in him.  If you have new or used leashes, collars, toys, pet food or cash that you're willing to part with let me know.  If you'd like to send something direct I will find the address for you. . .cuz I dont know it right off the top of my head and frankly, I'm too lazy to look right now.  Just tell em Cubby sent you.  I'd like to do this on a regular basis to help support their efforts and I'd love to have you join me.
I love you best Shilo.  Thank you for everything you do for me and everything that you are.  You are incredible!
hugs licks kisses and dog slobber to all!
